September 17th was the rumored date for the debut single off Rihanna’s new album, but Benjamin Galouye of French radio station NRJ announced via Twitter that the release had been pushed back.
“We were notified that #Rihanna and her staff decided to delay her new single. It should premiere later this week,” he wrote.
Shortly after NRJ amended its report songwriter Sia Furler posted a cryptic tweet saying simply:

Rihanna has shown no signs of slowing down, with her seventh album in as many years nearing completion, and her fifth tour, the Diamonds World Tour set to open in March of next year.
The new album has been rumored for a November release, with artists Ne-Yo and David Guetta already confirmed as contributors.
